Why Youth Haven?
Youth Haven works diligently towards providing homeless and abused youth between 15 and 25 with love, support & life skills needed to foster their sense of well being and security. As Simcoe's only youth shelter, Youth Haven provides an atmosphere of respect and dignity to approximately 500 youth per year.
#Simcoe Rising Stars #Dream Big – Gives Back
After visiting Youth Haven House, our committee noticed that they are in desperate need of some upgrades to their house on Wellington Street. Some fresh paint, new mattresses, furniture, doors, trim, locks, and floor tiles etc. With the goal of making our Fundraising Event and efforts unique, we held a talent contest, Simcoe Rising Star #Dream Big. This contest was open to any and all of the arts including singer/songwriters, bands, dance, comedy etc. Talented people from all over the Simcoe region came out to audition. Our first audition was held on June 3rd and the Semi’s on July 15th. Our Top 12 were selected and have moved on in the contest, with plans to perform and entertain guests at our Black Tie Gala on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Ferndale Banquet Hall & Catering. Join us and be present for the exciting announcement of the 1st place winner. They will go home with an All-inclusive trip for two to the Iberostar Cozumel resort.
"The Event of the Year"
With an amazing production company, MTAV, and our Events Board #EVN, this is sure to be the “Event of The Year”. We anticipate this Event is going to change these Youth's lives and their accommodations. This Event is already having a positive impact on the Top 12 contestants. Our Top 12 contestants have been lending their support by participating in a few collection drives for Youth Haven here in Barrie. As much as they are all working hard to compete against each other, hoping to win one of the top 3 prizes, it is nice to see that they understand what this is really about and they are all aware of how important it is to give back to their communities and help those around them.

Black Tie Gala ticket proceeds are going towards the cost of these Renovations & Tailored Workshops for Today’s Youth. Together we can make a difference. Together we can help our #Youth feel good about their surroundings, their environment and start each day on a positive note.
